Born on 7
th March 1979 in Jos, Plateau State Capital to the families of Sheikh Usman Muhammad Imam and Sa’adatu Usman Maidakka (all of blessed memories), from Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano State. Nasir started his early education in Kabong Primary School, Jos where he obtained his Primary School Certificate, P.S.C.E. in 1991.
Soon after his primary school education, he proceeded to the prestigious Science Secondary School, Dawakin-kudu in Kano State wherein he sat for and got his Senior Secondary School Certificate, S.S.C.E. in 1997.
In 1998, Nasir became an undergraduate student of Biochemistry at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) from where he graduated in 2004. It was while in UNIMAID that Nasir’s love for Biochemistry and activities of Biochemistry developed in him. This love manifested in different ways. In 2003, this love was acknowledged by the students of Biochemistry when they overwhelmingly elected him the President of UNIMAID chapter of the National Association of Biochemistry Students (NABS), as it was called then. His performance saw the association blossomed into the most viable student association and it was in his administration that gave birth to the periodic departmental magazine called “THE MATRIX”. It was no surprise when he was elected the Vice President of the North West branch of the same association.
Upon graduation, Nasir was posted to Nasarawa State for the one-year compulsory NYSC serving in Federal Medical Centre, Keffi. As a Corp member, he became the President of AIDS Fighters Club, Nasarawa State Chapter and Corper Liason officer, F.M.C. Keffi. He was also member of many committees.
Despite all these engagements, Nasir still went into the yearly Nasarawa State NYSC Essay Competition. He emerged the First Price Award Winner, 2005.
Further, Nasir’s Community Development Services (CDS) was judged the best in the state during the service year. Little wonder Nasir ended becoming State Best Serving Corper, a feat that earned him Automatic State Employment in Ministry of Water Resources & Rural Development from 2006-2009 as Scientific Officer II.
All these did not deviate Nasir from his love of Biochemistry as he latter went to University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) for M.Sc in Biochemistry. This was accomplished in the year 2015.
Although, gainfully employed outside academics, Nasir’s quest for knowledge and research in areas of Biochemistry could not be dampened.
