Personal Profile: Stanley I. R. Okoduwa PhD, is a distinguished Medical Biochemist and Toxicologist, product of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees respectively. He is currently serving as a Research Fellow at the Directorate of Research and Development of the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST), Zaria, Kaduna State. This institute operates under the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology (FMIST). Prior to this role, he was a Senior Lecturer and Postgraduate Coordinator (2021–2024) at the Department of Biochemistry, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State.
Dr. Okoduwa holds leadership roles within the scientific community. He is the Pioneer Director of ICT for the Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NSBMB) and has served as the National Public Relations Officer (2019–2023) and Zonal Coordinator for the Southwest Region (2023–2024) of the society.
He is also the Founder and Executive Director of the InfoHealth Awareness Group (IHAG), a nonprofit organization dedicated to disease prevention and health promotion through education and healthcare services. Additionally, he serves as the Managing Director of K3 Foods, renowned for producing Tom Brownvita Nutriment—a nutrient-rich food designed for growing children and adult health maintenance—and Tom Brownvita Cereal, an instant, nutritious breakfast meal for all ages.
Research Focus and Expertise: Driven by a passion for innovative research aimed at improving human health, Dr. Okoduwa’s core research interests include: Development of novel therapeutics for Type 2 Diabetes, Conducting toxicological studies to ensure public health safety, Designing and utilizing animal models for disease research, Exploring medicinal plants for the extraction and isolation of bioactive compounds. His work reflects a commitment to scientific advancement and practical solutions for global health challenges.
Editorial and Academic Achievements: Dr. Okoduwa contributes to the academic community as a member of the Editorial Board of World Nutrition, the journal of the World Public Health Nutrition Association (United Kingdom), and serves as the Journal Administrator for the Nigerian Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. His scholarly excellence has been recognized in various academic rankings:
